Saint Michael School is a Middle States accredited Roman Catholic elementary school committed to excellence in developing all aspects of each student. For almost seventy-five years Saint Michael School has nurtured, prepared, and challenged students to become leaders in the Christian and world community. Each child’s spiritual, academic, physical, technological, and cultural potential is encouraged and maximized. The fundamental teachings of Jesus Christ are demonstrated by student and teacher mutual respect and the dynamic role the school serves in the local and extended community. We are a vibrant school having a dedicated experienced faculty, a supportive parish staff, and an excellent relationship with parents - all working in cooperation for the ultimate goal of educating the individual child.
Philosophy
Saint Michael School exists to exemplify within the parish community an atmosphere based upon the Gospel that “enables young people, while developing their own personalities, to grow at the same time in that new life which has been given at Baptism.” (Declaration on Christian Education - Vatican II)
A deepened awareness of the teachings of Jesus Christ is fundamental to Saint Michael School. It is the living out of these teachings within the world community that is the challenge for the Saint Michael’s student.
Saint Michael’s students develop a moral, spiritual, and physical awareness that will enable them to be responsible Christian citizens. Teachers encourage students in a positive way to increase their self-esteem. Both teacher and student at Saint Michael’s share a mutual love and respect for each person. It is our goal that kindness and courtesy bear witness to this mutual respect.
Saint Michael School admits students of any race, color, national, or ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. Saint Michael School does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national, and ethnic origin in the administration of its educational policies, admissions policies, scholarship and loan programs, and athletic and other School administered programs.
